Haiku Animations

Students were asked to produce animations responding to a Haiku poem they connected with. Their process was to create an original design sourced through photography, hand sketching, computer illustration and/or mixed media. Their learning objectives were:

– Concept communication through visual design.
– Understanding the role of art direction in design.
– Basic sound design.
– Basic animation.

The following Youtube video is a compilation of all their animations. The images that follow are their pre-production mock-ups (presented individually).

Here we have a late edition to the Haiku compilation but we thought it was so unique that perhaps it was destined to be solo:
